Wondimu - Country Director, Ethiopia
Wondimu Seba currently serves as Schools for Humanity’s in-country director for Ethiopia. A man of great personal dignity, he approaches his role with exceptional determination. Voluntarily assuming the responsibility of attaining SFH’s education license from the government, Wondimu interrupted his own livelihood to make several journeys to Addis Ababa to advance the process. Within Shashemene he founded a committee, Schools for Humanity Association-Shashemene, to organize resources and form community decisions.
His respected status in the community has been of immense value to SFH in guiding the process and inspiring support. An esteemed leader, he bears many years of experience working in nonprofit organizations. Most prominently, he has served as volunteer committee chairperson for Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia-Shashemene since 1994.
Wondimu has repeatedly expressed his dedication to improving access to education for the children of Shashemene, which include his own two sons, a daughter, and two destitute children of his extended family that he provides for. Thanks in great deal to his efforts, 165 students are currently enrolled in SFH’s first operating school.
